Chandigarh, March 17: The Punjab Government is under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. It is continuously working to enhance the early education of children. The government is also focusing on the overall development of children in the state. Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Security, Women, and Child Development, stated that the government will soon launch an online registration portal. This portal will ensure the transparent registration of private play-way schools.It will also facilitate effective implementation at the ground level.

Online Registration Portal : Punjab Sets New Rules for Private Play-Way Schools

Further elaborating, Dr. Baljit Kaur mentioned that all private play-way schools must register with the Department of Social Security. They must also register with Women, and Child Development within six months. Similarly, ECCE institutions must do the same. The Cabinet Minister highlighted the need to improve the quality of early childhood education. To achieve this, the Punjab Government has approved new guidelines for regulating private play-way schools.She stated that this initiative will implement a standardized, play-based curriculum. It aims to ensure the holistic development of children aged 3 to 6 years. Dr. Baljit Kaur further emphasized an important initiative. To provide quality educational services to children in Anganwadi centers, the Department of Social Security has taken significant steps. They aim to expand access to Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). For this purpose, the Department has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two leading institutions, Pratham and Rocket Learning. These MoUs will help introduce a unified curriculum in the state. The Cabinet Minister added that this initiative aims to ensure quality education and better learning outcomes for children across Punjab while integrating private and public early education institutions under a unified framework.
