Public holiday on 10th January on account of general election
(Prashant Sharma):A spokesperson of the State Government informed here today that 10th January, 2021 has been declared as public holiday in Himachal Pradesh on account of general election to Municipal Council/Nagar Panchayats in the areas of those Urban Local Bodies, where the elections are scheduled to be held on the above date, in case poll is held. He said that all government offices, boards, corporations, educational institutions and industrial establishments situated in the Himachal Pradesh under Industrial Disputes Act and shops will remain closed on the said date in the areas of above institutions. This will also be a paid holiday to daily wages employees.
A special casual leave may be given to those employees who are working in different places in the State but have a right to vote in Urban Local Bodies of the State, by producing certificate from the concerned Presiding Officer that the employee has actually cast his/her vote.
