During a recent Cabinet meeting an in principle approval was given to the scheme, stated the Chief Minister adding that the Government was working on formulating final modalities in order to provide assistance to these women.
The State Government was ensuring well being of the vulnerable sections of the society and had initiated various beneficial schemes for them, said Sh. Sukhu while adding that he was well aware of the plight of weaker sections of the society as he himself belonged to a middle class family.
During the last one year, the State Government has introduced many new initiatives and measures for the upliftment of the vulnerable and weaker sections of the society. ‘Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Ashrayra Scheme’ has been implemented and over 4,000 orphans have been adopted as Children of the State. The State Government has decided to provide Rs. 4000 per month as pocket money to orphans upto the age of 27 years, he reiterated.
He said that these initiatives underscore the commitment of the Government to ensure a dignified life for those in need, reflecting a holistic approach towards the societal upliftment and progress.
