E-auction for special registration mark 0001 to start from 4th December

Director Transport, Anupam Kashyap informed here today that the department is going to launch e-auction for allotment of special registration mark 0001 from 4th December, 2023.
There will be e-auction of fancy numbers HP63F-0001 for Regional Transport Officer, Shimla, HP33G-0001 for Registration and Licensing Authority, Mandi and HP68C-0001 for Regional Transport Officer, Dharamshala, he said.
Those who are interested for obtaining special registration number 0001 can apply for it by visiting the website of the transport department. Applicant should be a resident of Himachal or having proof of doing business in the state, said Sh. Kashyap. The minimum bid will start from rupees 5 Lakh and non-refundable initial registration fee will be Rs 2,000. He said that the minimum bid amount, Rs. 1.50 lakh would have to be deposited. Apart from the successful bidder, the amount will be refunded within five days to the other unsuccessful bidders. Registration of applications will start from 10:00 AM on Monday, December 4, 2023 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2023 and applicants can participate in the bidding simultaneously. Registration will not be done on Sunday and applicants can participate only through e-auction.
He said that the bidding will start with an increase of 20 percent of the minimum bid price of Rs 5 Lakh (i.e. rupees one lakh). The initial amount for bidding is Rs. 6,00,000, thereafter the minimum bid value can be increased by 10 percent of Rs. 5,00,000 which will be Rs. 50,000. The result of the e-auction will be declared on Sunday, 10th December, 2023 at 5 PM.
He said that the successful bidder will have to ensure to deposit outstanding amount within three days by December 13, 2023 and only after that the number will be allotted.
If the successful applicant for any reason is unable to obtain a special registration mark, then the 30 percent advance amount deposited by him, which is Rs 1,50,000, will not be returned and will be deposited in the government treasury, he remarked and added that this registration number will also not be given to a person residing at another place and the department will rebid for this special registration mark.
