CM presides over Pragatisheel Himachal: Sathapna Ke 75 Varsh function at Chail Koti in Kasumpti AC
Chief Minister announces sub tehsil at Baldeyan and Koti and 33KV Electric Sub Station at Koti
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while addressing the massive public meeting at Chail Koti in Kasumpti Vidhan Sabha area of Shimla district today as part of ‘Pragatisheel Himachal: Sathapna Ke 75 Varsh’ (Progressive Himachal:75 Years of Formation) celebrations to commemorate 75 years of existence of Himachal Pradesh, announced opening of sub tehsils at Baldeyan and Koti of Kasumpti Assembly Constituency, establishing 33KV Electric Sub Station at Koti, upgradation of Government High Schools Bani and Patcher to Government Senior Secondary Schools.
Chief Minister said that roads were the lifelines of hilly States like Himachal Pradesh, and plays a major role in development of the State. He said that the present State Government has accorded topmost priority on construction of the roads and has constructed over 4200 km roads during the last four and a half years, despite Covid pandemic. He said that PMGSY started by the former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee has played a major role in providing road connectivity to every nook and corner of the State. He said that nearly 51 per cent roads were constructed under this scheme.
Jai Ram Thakur said that today India was in the safe hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has emerged as a world leader and India was posed to regain its old glory and dignity. He said that the Nation was successfully bailed out from the tough situation of Covid pandemic and the credit of this also goes to the timely vaccine developed by the Indian scientists due to the motivation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that Himachal Pradesh did an excellent work in the vaccination campaign and emerged as the first State in the country to achieve cent per cent coverage of first and second dose immunization. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also lauded the State for achieving these distinctions.
Chief Minister said that the previous State Government did not even start a single scheme for welfare of the poor and the downtrodden. He said that on the other hand, the present State Government started schemes such as Sahara Yojna, Mukhya Mantri Shagun Yojna, HIMCARE, Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna, Mukhya Mantri Swavalamban Yojna for welfare and betterment of every vulnerable section of the society. He said that the opposition was misleading the people of the State with an eye on assembly polls. He said that the Congress was a leaderless, issueless and directionless party. He said that the double engine government was important for ensuring that the pace of development goes uninterrupted for years together. He also accused the opposition leaders for distributing freebies to the people of the State adding that now these leaders were claiming that they would discontinue these schemes once they come to power.
A theme song on 75 years of existence of Himachal Pradesh was also sung on the occasion. A documentary based on 75 years of glorious history of Himachal Pradesh produced by the Information and Public Relations Department was also screened on the occasion.
Member of Parliament Suresh Kashyap detailed various welfare schemes of eight years tenure of the NDA Government at the Centre. He said that the State has made remarkable progress under the able leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
BJP leader from Kasumpti Assembly Constituency Vijay Jyoti Sen welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
Former Pradhan of Gram Panchayat and prominent Congress leader Surender Garg joined the BJP alongwith his supporters in the presence of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on the occasion.
MLA Chopal Balbir Verma, former MP Virender Kashyap, Chairperson Saksham Gudiya Board Roopa Sharma, former MLA Roop Das Kashyap, Chairman Kaliash Federation Ravi Mehta, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi, Superintendent of Police Dr. Monika and other prominent leaders of the area were also present on the occasion.
