“Chief Minister Meets Union Home Minister Amit Shah
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu, during his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi today, briefed him on the ‘Assessment Report of Post-Disaster Needs’ submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the recent natural calamity in Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rainfall. He urged the central government to promptly release financial aid for the reconstruction efforts being undertaken by the state government.
He also appealed for quick approval of the remaining funds under the relief helicopter service scheme and informed the minister that the state had already submitted details of various routes to the ministry. He emphasized the need for swift approval in this regard.
During the meeting between the CM and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Chief Minister highlighted the ambitious initiatives under the Vibrant Villages program. The state government has presented projects amounting to ₹658.31 crore as part of this comprehensive rural development plan. However, the Chief Minister expressed concern as he revealed that the Ministry of Home Affairs had granted approval for a mere ₹3.87 crore, covering only 14 projects.
Undeterred by the limited approval, the Chief Minister earnestly appealed for the swift endorsement of the remaining funds. He underscored the critical significance of advancing the development projects in these villages, linking their progress to national security imperatives. The Chief Minister emphasized that these villages play a pivotal role in bolstering the overall security framework of the nation.
In seeking expedited approval, the Chief Minister conveyed the urgency of these initiatives, emphasizing their potential impact on the socio-economic landscape and the well-being of the residents.
