Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Sunday, campaigned for Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok sabha candidate Malvinder Singh Kang in Kharar. Mann took out a mega road show where he was accompanied by Malvinder Kang and the MLAs of Anandpur Sahib Lok sabha constituency; cabinet minister Anmol Gagan Maan and Chamkaur Sahib MLA Charanjit Singh. He addressed the gathered people and said that he is so happy to witness the enthusiasm of the people of the holy land of Sri Anandpur Sahib and it looks like that the mandate of the people is already obvious just the formal announcement is pending.
CM Mann said that he is getting the same response everywhere. Yesterday he was in Gujarat and there his road show was resounding with the slogans of ‘Inquilab Zindabad’. He said that I never shy away from the hard work, after they (BJP) put Arvind Kejriwal in jail, my work and responsibilities are doubled. But I have you people, you’ve got our (AAP’s) back and who has the support of Punjabis can never fail.
Mann said that he gave 43,000 government jobs, free electricity to everyone, canal water to every field even to tail-ends, more than 850 Aam Aadmi clinics, 13 Schools of eminence and electricity to the farmers during the day, and all that in just two years. He said that whereas the other governments sell properties of the government to their friends and relatives, his government bought GVK thermal power plant and named it after Guru Amardas ji. He said that soon the Punjab government will give cheaper electricity to industry too and that will promote industry in Punjab. He said that already companies like Tata steel are investing in Punjab.
Mann said that this upcoming season 70% of the canal water will go to the fields of Punjab for irrigation. Around 6 lakh tubewells will be unneeded in Punjab. It will save around 7,000 crores of electricity board and with that money his government will fulfill the guarantee of Rs 1000 per month to women. Mann said that he’s not in politics to earn money, he is here to change the system, to make it better, to serve Punjab and Punjabis.
Mann said that for the development of a state, everyone’s development is important, he wants the farmers, businessmen, labourers etc. everyone to be happy and they should get the worth of their work. He said that I am asking for votes on the basis of my work in Punjab in two years, in Delhi we are asking for votes in the name of our work of eight years, because we do the politics of work. It is a matter of great shame that Narendra Modi who was the prime minister for 10 years is asking for votes in the name of Manglasutra and religion. Mann said that the BJP does the politics of hatred and fear. He appealed to the people of Punjab to not let the BJP put its roots in Punjab. He said that Punjab is known for its communal harmony, we celebrate Gurpurabs, Eids and Navamis together. The langar started by Guru Nanak Dev Ji with Rs 20 is ‘sarab sanjha’ for all humankind.
He said that the land of Sri Anandpur Sahib is the land of Gurus and great sacrifices. He appealed to the youth to not migrate as the system is changing now, corruption has ended and people are getting opportunities for jobs, careers and new businesses in Punjab. He said that his government made departments like Verka and Markfed profitable. He said that he is not scared of heights or depths, he only has one fear of Akal Purakh.
Mann, taking a dig at other parties, said that he is showered with love and flowers everyday whereas after shaking hands with the Akali, BJP and Congress leaders, people count their fingers to make sure that they haven’t stolen any. He said that Sukhbir Badal only comes out to save Punjab, when temperature is below 30°C because otherwise he gets heat stroke. There were CMs in Punjab who after taking votes, used to close gates of their palaces. He said that it is for the first time in Punjab, that the people of Punjab have their own government, 90% youth call me ‘Bai ji’ because I’m their own, one of them.
The people of Kharar promised Mann that even before 2 PM on June 4th, the Aam Aadmi Party will be declared winner from Anandpur Sahib. Mann quipped make it 1:30. Concluding the address Anandpur Sahib candidate Malvinder Singh Kang thanked the people for joining the road show in such large numbers and also thanked everyone for their constant support.
