Haryana youth have a commendable participation in national level competitions
Chandigarh, Nov 22 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini emphasized the need for collective dedication to Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047. He called on the youth to strive towards achieving both a developed Haryana and a developed India.
The Chief Minister made these remarks as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the district-level youth festival held at the Multi Art Cultural Center in Kurukshetra. Prior to the ceremony, he visited the Science Fair at the center, where he recognized and awarded certificates of appreciation to the winning participants.
While appreciating the presentations at the District Youth Festival, the Chief Minister said that India boasts the largest youth population in the world. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of harnessing this youth power to drive the country towards development. The Prime Minister considers the youth as the nation’s foundational pillar. He believes that to build a developed, and divine India, we will have to strengthen the four key “Amrit pillars”: our youth, women, farmers, and the middle and lower classes.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling the promises outlined in the Sankalp Patra. He said that on the lines of IMT in Kharkhoda, it has been targeted to establish IMTs in ten districts over the next five years, aiming to create job opportunities for local youth.
The Chief Minister praised the talent of Haryana’s youth, who have made significant achievements both nationally and internationally. He noted their impressive performance in various competitive examinations, including a notable presence in prestigious assessments like NEET and JEE. Many students from Haryana consistently rank among the top 10 in the CBSE 10th and 12th examinations.
He also highlighted the youth’s success in sports, mentioning that Haryana athletes contributed four of India’s six medals at the Paris Olympics 2024 and eight of the 29 medals at the Paralympics.
The Chief Minister said that over the past decade, the government has worked tirelessly to provide youth with the freedom and resources to achieve success, helping them overcome any obstacles they may encounter. He highlighted the development of a modern, dynamic ecosystem across various sectors—education, employment, startups, skills, and sports—to support the youth of Haryana.
He emphasized the implementation of the new National Education Policy, aimed at delivering 21st-century education. The PM Vishwakarma Yojana has been launched to assist youth with exceptional hand skills, and the country’s first skill university, named after Shri Vishwakarma, has been established to connect young people with vocational training.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also said that the dreams of the youth are becoming a reality, with eligible candidates securing jobs at no slips and expenses. He reiterated the government’s commitment to prioritizing the advancement of youth, assuring them that the government stands firmly behind them. Whether it’s in education, skill development, self-employment support, or opportunities to study abroad, he said that the government is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art knowledge, skills, and financial assistance at every step.
The Chief Minister said that the government aims to provide permanent jobs to two lakh youth based on merit over the next five years.
He acknowledged the high number of youth seeking employment abroad and warned against the dangers of the “donkey route,” where individuals fall victim to fraudsters promising overseas opportunities. He urged young people to be vigilant and avoid such traps. To combat this issue, the state government has established a Foreign Cooperation Department to facilitate education and employment for youth abroad.
The Chief Minister set a target for 2030, aiming for every young person in the state to be skilled and financially prosperous. Achieving this goal will help Haryana meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by that year. He also highlighted that over one lakh youth have received skills training through the Haryana Skill Development Mission, empowering them to become self-sufficient. It is the government’s priority to promote industries to provide employment opportunities to skilled youth. Under this, a separate MSME department has been formed in the state.
The Chief Minister said that women play a vital role in the development of the state. To empower women, the government is advancing the Prime Minister’s vision of drone technology through the Namo Drone Didi initiative. In the first phase of the ‘Drone Didi Yojana,’ drones valued at up to Rs 8 lakh will be provided free of charge to 500 self-help groups across 500 villages. He urged all youth to prioritize their responsibilities and actively contribute to the progress of society.
