Dr. Paramjit Sidhu Receives Haryana Sahit and Sanskrit Academy Award

The Haryana Sahit and Sanskrit Academy has approved the literary awards for Punjabi language for the years 2017 to 2022. , For the year 2021, the selected Dr. Paramjeet Kaur from Chandigarh for the Bibi Jagir Kaur Sandhu Award. A spokesperson for the Akademi shared this information .
They nominated Dr. Sidhu for this prestigious award to recognise her remarkable achievements and contributions in the field of literature and literary criticism. Notably, the Haryana Punjabi Sahit Academy (Govt. of Haryana) previously awarded her book on fiction criticism the Best Criticism Book of 2013.

The Bharti Dalit Sahit Academi honored Dr. Sidhu with the Dr. Ambedkar Sahitya Shri National Award-2019.
Dr. Paramjit Sidhu has made significant contributions to the Punjabi literary criticism field, having authored five books and published 75 research papers to date. Furthermore, she has translated two books into Punjabi and edited two additional books. Dr. Sidhu has also represented Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, at various Punjabi literature conferences held both within India and internationally.
It is noteworthy that the awards given by the Akademi for Punjabi language include a prize money of Rs. 5 lakh for the Haryana Punjabi Gaurav Award, Rs. 2.5 lakh for the Mahakavi Bhai Santokh Singh Award, Rs. 2.25 lakh for the Baba Sheikh Farid Award, Rs. 2 lakh for the Sant Taran Singh Vehmi Award, Rs. one lakh for the Kavi Harbhajan Singh Renu Award, Rs. 1 lakh for the Bibi Jagir Kaur Sandhu Award, Rs. one lakh for the Hari Singh Dilbar Award, Rs. one lakh for the Punjabi Journalism Award, and Rs. 1 lakh for the Ragi/Dhadi/Folk Singer Award.
