In 9 years, Haryana made stellar economic growth, State Exports skyrocketed from Rs 68,032 crore in 2014 to Rs 2,45,453 crore in 2022-23
The state has seen a massive Investment of Rs 18,422 crore, 1.59 lakh new MSMEs industries set up, 12.6 lakh jobs created
Chandigarh, October 26 – Underscoring the substantial positive transformation and advancements, Manohar Lal said that Haryana over the past nine years has focused on economic growth, industrial development, and the overall well-being of its residents.
Sharing a range of accomplishments and advancements the State has achieved in these 9 years, the Chief Minister while addressing a press conference here today said that the state’s exports have surged from Rs 68,032 crore in 2014 to an impressive Rs 2,45,453 crore in the fiscal year 2022-23, demonstrating a remarkable uptick in economic prosperity. School Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal was also present on this occasion.
He further shared that Haryana has successfully attracted investments worth Rs 18,422 crore, leading to the establishment of 1,59,622 MSMEs in the state. This substantial industrial expansion has concurrently generated employment opportunities for approximately 12.60 lakh individuals, shared the Chief Minister.
He said that the government’s strategy has been to transcend divisive issues such as casteism, regionalism, and nepotism, with a primary focus on fostering holistic development in the state. Their efforts have been dedicated to diversifying the economy and ensuring comprehensive progress, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that the government has laid a strong emphasis on enhancing the standard of living for the people of Haryana. This encompassed various initiatives in education, healthcare, security, self-sufficiency, empowerment, self-esteem, and equal opportunities, he added.
Divulging the details about infrastructure advancements, the government has been actively engaged in advancing infrastructure development. Notable projects include the construction of an Integrated Multi Modal Logistics Hub in Narnaul on an area of 886 acres at a cost of 700 million US dollars and the establishment of industries in IMT Kharkhoda Sonipat, in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki and Suzuki.
“Haryana has actively participated in national initiatives like the PM Gati Shakti Yojana and the establishment of a Medical Device Park in Panipat, along with a Bulk Drugs Park in Hisar. The government has taken measures to provide traders with various benefits and facilities, including insurance coverage against losses due to fire and burglary under the Mukhya Mantri Vyapari Kshatipurti Yojana (MMVKY), as well as personal accident insurance for registered traders,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
62 Rail Bridges constructed at Rs 2577 crore, 50 more to be constructed
Sh. Manohar Lal said that today every district of the state is connected by a national highway. At present the work of 8 highways is complete and 12 are in progress. To ease the traffic around Delhi, Kundli-Manesar-Palwal and Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressways were built and the traffic on them continues smoothly. Ambala Kotputli Greenfield Corridor (152-D) completed at Rs 10,646 crore, he said.
The Chief Minister further shared that the construction work of the country’s first elevated railway line has been completed in Rohtak city and work on the same project has started in Kurukshetra. A survey is being conducted for the elevated line in Kaithal. Construction work on 62 railway overbridges and underground bridges at a cost of Rs 2577 crore has been completed and work on 50 bridges is in progress. Metro service has started from YMCA Chowk to Ballabhgarh, Bahadurgarh-Mundka (Delhi), Badarpur-Mujesar (YMCA Chowk) and Sikandarpur station to Sector-56, he informed.
The Chief Minister shared that e-ticketing has been introduced in public road transport services in Haryana. A 5 percent rebate will also be given on recharging to promote this. Besides this, CCTV cameras have been installed at all bus terminals in the state, he informed.
Transformation of healthcare infrastructure ensuring accessible services and expanded medical education
Outlining the state government’s extensive efforts in the healthcare and education sectors in Haryana, the Chief Minister said that the government has prioritized the enhancement of healthcare infrastructure. In 2014, the state had one medical university, but this number has now risen to two. Similarly, the count of medical colleges has surged from 6 in 2014 to 15, and the MBBS seats have increased from 700 to 2185. Moreover, the number of PG seats in medical colleges has grown from 289 to 1006, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He further shared that the state has witnessed an increase in the number of civil hospitals. In 2014, there were 56 civil hospitals, and now the count stands at 72. Additionally, the government has established 2700 health and wellness centres to make healthcare more accessible.
“Haryana has established the nation’s first AYUSH University, known as Shri Krishna AYUSH University, situated in Kurukshetra, demonstrating its commitment to alternative and traditional healthcare systems. Besides this, the government has introduced specialized healthcare facilities, including the Atal Cancer Care Center for cancer treatment, City Scan facilities at 17 District Civil Hospitals, hemodialysis services at 22 Civil Hospitals, MRI services at 5 District Civil Hospitals, and cardiology services at 4 centres,” shared the Chief Minister.
He further informed that several civil hospitals have been upgraded to provide more comprehensive healthcare services. Thirteen civil hospitals have been enhanced from 100-bedded hospitals to 200-bedded hospitals, and Ambala City Civil Hospital has been upgraded from a 200-bedded hospital to a 300-bedded hospital.
Quality education and merit-based employment for a brighter future
Sharing the details about the radical changes brought in the education sector which has led to ensuring ample employment opportunities to the state youth, the Chief Minister said the present government has established Vishwakarma Skill University in Dudhola, District Palwal, with a focus on skill development to offer employment opportunities and encourage self-employment among the youth.
“To improve the quality of education, the state has launched the Functional Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) program for children from class 1 to class 3,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that an online transfer policy has been implemented for the convenience of teachers, which is also being adopted by other states in the country. Besides this, the state has seen growth in the number of universities from 43 in 2014 to 56, government colleges from 105 to 182, and Government Model Senior Secondary Sanskriti Schools from 13 to 147.
“Haryana aims to implement the new National Education Policy by 2025, focusing on comprehensive educational reforms. This includes admissions from KG to PG in four universities and the introduction of B.Tech courses in Hindi in three universities,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He further informed that the present state government has enrolled children from 2650 economically disadvantaged families in recognized private schools under the Chirag Yojana.
“These initiatives reflect the state government’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare services, skill development, and education to provide employment opportunities and enhance the overall quality of life for the people of Haryana,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
About 1.10 Lakh Merit-Based Jobs given, Plans to give additional 60,000
Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government had started Mission Merit and based on transparency, 1.10 lakh youth have got government jobs and there are plans to provide 60,000 more jobs.
“To make the recruitment process fair and transparent, the government has done away with interviews in Group C and D recruitments. Provision for the Common Eligibility Test was made to get relief from repeated competitive examinations. Apart from this, provision has been made for 75 percent reservation for the youth of Haryana in industries,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister further informed that under the Saksham Yuva Yojana, up to Rs 9000 per month was given to 4 lakh youth and Rs 2504 crore was distributed as unemployment allowance and honorarium. Additionally, under the Unemployment Allowance Scheme, unemployment allowance up to Rs 3,000 per month is given to 12th, graduate and equivalent youth, he said.
“An amount of Rs. 205 crore was distributed as unemployment allowance to 32,361 beneficiaries. Not only this, Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam was formed to protect the employees hired under the outsourcing policy from exploitation by the contractors,” shared, Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that today the youth of Haryana is shining bright not only in the country but also at the international level based on their sports talent. The inclination of youth towards sports has increased. Players from Haryana have won 40 percent of the medals in the recently concluded Asian Games, he said.
“Haryana has gained recognition in the country and the world as the nursery of sports. Our government has significantly increased the honorarium given to players as compared to the previous government,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that while the government has implemented many welfare schemes for youth, women and farmers, it has also paid special attention to the welfare of soldiers and paramilitary. For this, separate Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare department have been formed and till now on compassionate grounds, 367 dependents of martyred soldiers have been given government jobs.
