Haryana’s New Initiative for Soldiers and Veterans :Chief Minister

CM directed to take action in this regard in coordination with the Army officials

Chandigarh, July 15 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the state government will launch a new initiative to enhance health facilities for serving soldiers, ex-servicemen, and their families. This includes developing health facilities similar to Army Polyclinics in various towns, based on need, through coordination with the army. This initiative aims to ensure that military personnel and their dependants can access healthcare services close to their homes.

CM instructed to develop health facilities for defence personnel

The Chief Minister, who was chairing a meeting with officials from the Health Department here today, instructed them to develop health facilities for defence personnel and their family members. He suggested that, currently, Army hospitals and polyclinics operate in Panchkula, Ambala, and Hisar, etc.

He also proposed the development of health facilities at other locations based on the demand and needs of the soldiers. Additionally, Health Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta was present at this occasion.

While instructing the health department officials, the Chief Minister emphasised the need to coordinate with top army officials and take appropriate action to implement this initiative. Haryana government would provide the necessary resources for these health facilities.

He also highlighted that there has been a demand from ex-servicemen to develop health facilities in military-dominated areas such as Rewari, Rohtak, and Mahendragarh. Establishing medical institutions in these regions will greatly benefit soldiers, ex-servicemen, and their families.

Establish SHC, PHC, and CHC based on Jansamwad demand

Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that the state government is enhancing medical infrastructure across Haryana. This includes establishing sub-health centers, primary health centers, and community health centers for improved healthcare services.

They are also upgrading existing hospitals and establishing medical and nursing colleges in each district to address shortages of doctors and paramedical staff. He emphasized that the establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will benefit not only Haryana but also neighboring states.

Emphasizing the need to enhance health facilities

The Chief Minister emphasized enhancing health facilities and instructed officials to establish Sub-Health Centers, Primary Health Centers, and community health centers based on public feedback received through Jansamvad. Also present at the meeting were Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary Sudhir Rajpal from the Health and Family Welfare Department, Anurag Rastogi from the Finance Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal from the Chief Minister’s Office, and Aditya Dahiya from Ayushman Bharat Haryana Health Protection Authority, among others.
