Haryana Selected for National Energy Conservation Award

Chandigarh, December 10: Haryana has been selected for the National Energy Conservation Award (NECA) 2023 due to its outstanding performance in the State Energy Efficiency Index. The state will be awarded the second prize in the State Energy Efficiency Performance Award.

Shri Abhay Bakre, Director General of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, informed the Haryana Government that the Award Committee of the Ministry of Power has finalized the winners. Haryana has been declared the winner of the Second Prize in the State Energy Efficiency Performance Award.

The National Energy Conservation Award recognizes and encourages exemplary energy management practices that lead to social and economic benefits. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will present the award to Haryana at a ceremony organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on National Energy Conservation Day, December 14th.

“I am proud that our state has received national recognition for its efforts in energy conservation,” said Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal. “We have successfully implemented numerous energy conservation projects and embraced new technologies. Considering energy usage in public transport and industries, we have introduced new schemes for conservation and sustainability. We have also encouraged people to practice energy conservation and have taken positive steps to create awareness about its importance. You too should come forward and strengthen the government’s efforts towards greater energy conservation,” he added.

National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) are awarded to industrial units, establishments, and organizations across various sectors of the Indian economy for their exceptional achievements in energy savings.
