Chandigarh, May 1 – In a major breakthrough, Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police has arrested a notorious gangster Sube Gurjar from Delhi airport. A reward of Rs 7.5 lakh was declared for his arrest.
Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that Sube Gurjar, a resident of Badgujjar in Gurugram district was wanted by the police in Haryana and other neighbouring states.
The gangster, who emerged as a major challenge for the police in Haryana and its neighbouring states has entered the world of crime since 2004-05. He used to commit crimes mainly in association with Kaushal Gang. After the arrest of Kaushal, he took over the command of the gang.
Initial probe revealed that 11 cases of murder, 12 cases of attempt to murder, dozens of extortion call, threaten to kill and other heinous crimes were registered against him in Delhi, NCR including Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Out of which, he was convicted by Court in two cases and declared proclaimed offender in a number of cases. In addition, his arrest also pending in about 20 other cases.
The arrested gangster has prepared henchmen at the local level to carry out criminal activities, which he used to lead from other states and countries. Staying out of Delhi NCR, he used to make extortion calls and other crimes like contract killing. He used to kill those who did not pay the ransom money. The main purpose was to spread panic among the traders/ businessmen, to collect as much money as possible and to create an atmosphere of fear among the common people.
Gangster has been taken on seven days police remand by producing in the court. The process of searching his bases and aides, besides recovering the weapons and other equipments used in the crime is being implemented.
