Chief Minister pays tribute to martyrs at 84th Shaheedi Mahasammelan at Dera Baba Bhuman Shah

Including the biography of Shaheed Udham Singh in the 9th-grade history textbook of state government schools is a true tribute, CM

Chandigarh, July 31 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday, visited the 84th Shaheedi Mahasammelan of Shaheed Udham Singh at Dera Baba Bhuman Shah, Sangar Sarista in Sirsa district and paid tribute to the martyrs who made supreme sacrifice of their lives for the country.

Speaking on this occasion he said that the central and state governments are following the path shown by the martyrs to realise their dreams. There have been fundamental changes in development works across the country and the state. The double engine government has taken up the task of fulfilling the dreams of the martyrs by launching new schemes, he said.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has included the biography of Shaheed Udham Singh Ji in the history textbook for the 9th grade under the Haryana School Education Board. This inclusion is a true tribute to him, he said.

The Chief Minister said that Shaheed Udham Singh was a great revolutionary who vowed in his youth to avenge the Jallianwala Bagh massacre by General Dyer. He said that after 21 years of intense dedication, Shaheed Udham Singh avenged the massacre by shooting General Dyer at a public meeting.

The Chief Minister also announced Rs. 51 lakh for the construction of Kamboj Dharamshalas at various locations, including Sirsa, Karnal, Radaur, Bhuna, Kurukshetra, Ratia, and Jagadhri. He also announced setting up of a library in honor of Shaheed Udham Singh near his statue on the grounds of the old Government College in Hisar.

If land is available, the government would consider making the road from NH-9 to Dera Baba Bhuman Shah a four-lane road, CM

The Chief Minister while addressing the request from the management committee members to expand the Rangoi drain, which passes through the Ghaggar River near village Musahib Wala. He said that the feasibility of this project would be examined, and if all criteria are met, the government would approve it. He further said that if land is available, the government would consider making the road from NH-9 to Dera Baba Bhuman Shah a four-lane road. Besides this, he announced the construction of a bus queue shelter on the main road.

CM urges people to plant a sapling under ‘Ek Ped Maa ke naam’ campaign’

The Chief Minister urged everyone to pledge to plant a sapling on the birth anniversaries of martyrs, on their Shaheedi diwas, on the birthdays of parents, and on other special occasions under the ‘Ek Ped Maa ke naam’ campaign’. He recalled Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s call to plant a sapling under ‘Ek Ped Maa ke naam’ on World Environment Day on June 5, a goal the state government is advancing with the aim of planting 1.5 crore saplings this year.

 Program to be organised in Germany to commemorate Shaheed Udham Singh martyrdom day, MP Rahul Kamboj

Speaking on the occasion, MP City Frankfurt Kelsterbach in Germany, Sh. Rahul Kamboj expressed his happiness to be among the people and commemorated a great revolutionary’s martyrdom day. He praised Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini for serving the people tirelessly and achieving national recognition. Born in Germany,  Sh. Kamboj said he still feels the scent of India’s soil and announced that a program would be organized in Germany to commemorate the martyrdom of Shaheed Udham Singh.

 Follow the Path Shown by Martyrs, Baba Brahmdas Maharaj

Baba Brahmdas Maharaj welcomed the Chief Minister and devotees in the event and urged devotees to take inspiration from this day and follow the path shown by the martyrs.
