CHANDIGARH, April 23: Hundreds of Punjab Congress workers today staged a massive protest. They gathered to oppose the terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. They condemned Pakistan for sponsoring and instigating terrorism in India. Congress workers also burnt an effigy of terrorism outside the Congress Bhawan.
Led by the Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the party workers and leaders condemned the killing. They expressed their deepest condolences and sympathies with the bereaved families.
Speaking on the occasion, Warring said, the terror attack was a direct assault on the unity. It also threatened the integrity of the country. He said, every Indian is ready to go to any extent to safeguard the unity and integrity of the nation.
Warring pointed out that the Congress party has a great record. Their history of laying down sacrifices for the country is significant. He said the Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had already extended his support to the government. The support is aimed to deal with the situation. It also focuses on hunting the perpetrators of the crime.
“Today all of us stand together. We will defeat the dastardly designs of the enemy. This unity is irrespective of our political affiliations and ideologies”, he said. He expressed confidence, saying, ‘We Indians stand united, strong, and powerful—we will teach our enemies the harshest lessons.’
