On May 23 in Chandigarh, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated his government’s zero tolerance policy against corruption, declaring that his administration will not spare any officer or politician, no matter how affluent, involved in this heinous crime against humanity. In a message to the people, the Chief Minister said that today’s action sends a clear message. There is no pick and choose in this tirade against corruption.

He said that mere affiliation to the ruling party or the opposition does not give license of corruption to the officer or leader. He added that the government will take exemplary action against such people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the government cannot tolerate any involvement in corruption and will show no mercy to anyone indulging in this sin.
The Chief Minister said that they assumed the charge of office in 2022. Since then, they have launched a crusade against corruption. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that they had given a guarantee to people. The government will not tolerate corruption at any level. Authorities will take the severest actions against those involved.He categorically stated that corruption has made the system hollow. Individuals involved in this crime have mercilessly plundered taxpayer’s money.

The Chief Minister said that this fight is against the corrupt system and not any single individual. He added that it will continue until it is completely eliminated. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government cannot be a mute spectator of open loot of traders and shopkeepers. Misusing power and blackmailing of innocents is intolerable. Extortion of money from them by powerful politicians in connivance with the officers is intolerable.
The Chief Minister urged the people to be an integral part of the anti-corruption drive. He assured that the government will take action on the complaints they lodge against corrupt elements. He said that if anyone harasses for corrupt motives, the common man should come forward. If there is an inordinate delay in their work, they should complain against them. He added that the state government will take decisive action against them. “For us, corrupt is corrupt, whether ours or others. I promise you anyone whose hands are drenched in corruption will not be spared. My government will ensure this,” added Bhagwant Singh Mann.
