There is nothing for the common people in this budget

Chandigarh, July 23, 2024: Dr. SS Ahluwalia, Chairman Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board and Co-in-charge of Aam Aadmi Party Chandigarh, speaking about the 2024-25 budget presented by the Modi government, said that this is not a budget, it is just Modi’s ‘Pradhan Mantri Sarkar Bachao Yojana’. There is nothing for the common man in this budget.

Dr. Ahluwalia said that the whole country including Chandigarh had high hopes from this budget that perhaps the Modi government would bring something special for the welfare of the common people in this budget. But there is nothing like that in this budget. In this budget, there was a lot of hope to reduce the tax on the prices of petrol, diesel and gas used by the common people on a daily basis, which would have benefited the common people. There was hope that common people would get relief by reducing tax on oil, but nothing like this was done.

He further said that Modi government has made special announcement for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, the states of allies in his government. From which it is clear that this budget has been presented to save Modi government. This budget is a budget of save government, increase inflation.

Dr. Ahluwalia further said that there is nothing in this budget for youth, employees, farmers and businessmen. In this budget, Modi government has only benefited corporate houses by not increasing any tax for them, there is no benefit for the common people. He said that there is nothing in this budget for the economic progress of the country, due to which the country will go far behind in terms of economy and development.
