Teej Festival Celebrated with Fervor in Sector 50B

Chandigarh, 7 Aug: The women of Society Progressive Enclave, Sector 50B, Chandigarh, organised a Teej function with full fervor and zest. They celebrated one of Punjab’s most widely observed festivals, honoring both married and unmarried women.  Women of all age groups participated enthusiastically, donning traditional attires in vibrant colors.

Highlights of the event included traditional folk dances, colorful costumes, folk singing, giddha, tappey, and a food stall with dinner. A kids’ corner was also available, where children enjoyed rides, drawing, and coloring activities.

Teej, a popular festival in Punjab for both married and unmarried women, was celebrated with enthusiasm by the Society Progressive Enclave, Sector 50B, Chandigarh

 

Speaking on the occasion, Manjit Kaur, Superintendent (retd.), Food Civil Supplies Department, Punjab appreciated the efforts of the society organizers. She stated that the festival of Teej is a symbol of our cultural heritage and emphasized that celebrating such festivals not only provides joy but also helps in reviving and preserving traditions and customs that are gradually vanishing.

Amita Bawa, Manjit Kaur, Rajinder, Karamjit, Kulwant, Manjit Saini, Usha, Kawaljit, Sarabjit, Hardeep, Charanjit, Parminder, Simran, Aman, Hardeep Saini, Sukhjit and Gurdeep, the organizers of this event, thanked all the society members for being part of the celebration of this ‘Sawan Festival.’
