Swacch Garvotsav 2023- Today in a historical collaboration , the transgender community of Chandigarh organised a pride parade with Municipal Corporation Chandigarh from Panjab University sector 14 to Park Plaza.
More than 400 transgenders individuals participated in the event. The pride parade commenced after the vibrant,humorous and energetic Gidha spreading the message of Swachhta.
During the entire parade, the participants generated awareness on swachhta by holding placards having messages of Segregation, Home composting, zero waste, use of cloth bag etc.
The pride parade ended at Plaza sector 17 where two meaningful street plays were performed by Satvik Theatre group on the theme and importance of Swachhta.
The event concluded with an oath pertaining to ‘say no to single use plastic ‘ by transgender individuals and others.
