Study Tour of Officer Trainees of ITS Group A to Smart City Chandigarh

Chandigarh, December 21st, 2022:* A group of Officer Trainees of ITSs Group A visited Smart City Chandigarh for the study tour. The visit was planned by National Telecommunications Institute for Policy Research, Innovation & Training (NTIPRIT) for the purpose to give them exposure of smart city projects to provide them a deep insight to requirements of smart city which will further help them to execute ICT component of smart city project in future and will help them to execute machine to machine communication and ToT related projects in other central line ministries of Government of India.

Anindita Mitra IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Chandigarh Smart City Limited welcomed the officers to Smart City Chandigarh. Smart City team gave a detailed presentation about how IT and ICT systems are helping the city in providing better services in key projects like Integrated Command & Control Centre, Solid Waste Management System, SCADA and Public Bike Sharing.

After the presentation, officers visited the various project sites like Solid Waste Management, SCADA, Sector 16 and 3BRD Tertiary Treated SCADA to see the on ground work being done under the projects. A visit to Integrated Command & Control Centre was also planned to give them better understanding about the need & approach of data driven decision making & implementation.
