Rajeev Vihar honours senior citizens on Independence Day
Rajeev Vihar Army Welfare Housing Society, Sector 13, Chandigarh celebrated
Independence Day at its Complex with full fervour & gaiety. Celebrations were
attended by large number of ex Armed Forces personnel, their families and civilian
residents. Colonel DS Sra (Veteran), President of the Society extended his greetings
to all residents and their families.
Major BK Bannerjee (Veteran),was the Chief Guest of the event. National Flag was hoisted by Col DS Sra & Maor BK Bannerjee together.
On this occasion, Society honoured its Senior citizens of age 80 years &
above. Senior citizens who were honoured include – Major BK Bannerjee (Veteran),
Brig BM Bakshi, VSM (Veteran), Col Satish Kumar Vijra (Veteran), Col Kulbir Singh
(Veteran), Kanwal Paul, Smt Sneh Paul and inder Mohan. Col DS Sra
presented each of them a tri colour scarf & Independence Day Souvenir.
“We also remembered Senior citizens who could not attend due to their commitments.
On this occasion, Residents remembered the freedom fighters for their
contribution & sacrifices made by them in attaining freedom for the Country. They
also took a pledge for making their contribution in whichever manner in upholding the
safety & sovereignty of the country. Later, Sweets were distributed to the residents
and members of staff of the Society.
