Non-Faculty and Contract Staff took out Car Scooter Rally
Protest for non-implementation of Supreme Court Judgment dated 11th January, 2019
Chandigarh 13th March, 2021 : The PGI Employees Union, PGI Medical Technologists Association, PGI Contract Workers Union and PGI Contract Safai Karamchari Union served a notice on 2nd March, 2021 to take out a car-scooter rally from PGI Gate to Rally Grounds to protest against the non-implementation of Hon’ble Supreme Court Judgment dated 27.09.2016, 11th January, 2019 and other following issues
1. Implementation of Hon’ble Supreme Court Judgment dated 27.09.2016 in SLP No. 30058-59 of 2014 filed against CAT Judgment dated 10.07.2013.
2. Implementation of Hon’ble Supreme Court Judgment dated 11.01.2019 in Diary No. 36796 of 2018 filed against CAT Judgment dated 10.07.2013.
3. Implementation of Hon’ble High Court Judgment dated 13.03.2019 in CWP No. 3880 of 2016 for same and similar wage to contract staff.
4. Convening meeting of High Powered Committee of Institute Body Members to redress grievances of Non Faculty Staff of Institute.
5. Resume Negotiations on Revised Charter of Demands and Grievances dated 11.06.2020 in continuation of Memorandum dated 21.12.2018 and 22.08.2019.
6. Implementation of Coordination Committee Report of October, 2012 duly approved by Apex Bodies.
7. Implementation of 3rd Cadre Review Committee Report constituted in July, 2015.
8. Implementation of Dr. Ashok Gupta Committee Report for grant of GP Rs. 4600 to Junior technicians 9Lab/X-rays and RT) w.e.f. 1.1.2006.
9. Implementation of Dr. Rajwanshi Committee Report to streamline medical facilities.
The Unions / Associations condemned the prolonged stay of 4 years imposed by High Court restricting non faculty staff to lodge its protest in a democratic manner, without finding a solution to sort out the longstanding industrial disputes.
Though the Union/Association are ready for Arbitration or voluntary reference of grievances to Hon’ble CAT, Chandigarh for peaceful resolution but the High Court and PGI has turned a blind eye. The Union / Association again requested Director, PGI to break the deadlock and resume negotiations to discuss and sort out grievances of Non Faculty Staff in an amicable manner otherwise Union / Associations have no option but to lodge its protest in a democratic manner and within the framework of Industrial Disputes Act.
The next protest programs already announced are as under;
1. To take out a Car-Scooter Rally from PGI to Rally Grounds, Sector 25, Chandigarh on Saturday the 13th March, 2021 at 1:30 pm (after duty hours).
2. To Carry and burn effigy of PGI Administration to protest the highhandedness and autocratic attitude.
3. To take out a Car-Scooter Rally from PGI to Rally Grounds, Sector 25, Chandigarh on Saturday the 20th March, 2021 at 1:30 pm (after duty hours).
4. To submit Memorandum to Hon’ble Member of Parliament and President, BJP, Chandigarh on Saturday the 27th March, 2021 at 1:30 pm (after duty hours).
