Municipal Corporation took over the possession of 87 parking lots from two contractors

Municipal Corporation took over the possession of 87 parking lots from two contractors after the General House, in the month of January, decided not to extend the contract period of the parking contractors. To operationalise the same, MC floated an EoI to all banks to provide POS machines free of cost. ICICI bank supplied 173 POS machines worth 45 lacs completely free of cost. 400 number of employees were deployed by MCC and trained by the bank. Also, QR code was generated by the bank for facilitating digital payment. Today, 27 parking lots like Elante, Sector 17, 22, 34, 20, were operationalised. The remaining parking lots shall be operationalised over the next 2-3 days. The parkings shall be run by MCC for the next 3 months, after which the system of Smart Parking shall be in place.
