Chandigarh, September 3:- A delegation of city villages led by Dr. Naresh Panchal alongwith other members of village development committee welcomed Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh here today in the presence of Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor and raised issues regarding the developmental issues of the villages. The delegation earlier welcomed the Commissioner in her office and wishes her for new responsibility to serve the people of Chandigarh.
The delegation raised various developmental issues including new road networks, laying of storm water pipes and sewer lines, electrical and horticulture works and strengthening water supply system in these villages.
The Mayor said that there are 22 villages under the jurisdiction of the MC out of which 13 including Behlana, Raipur Khurd, Raipur Kalan, Makhan Majra, Daria, Mauli Jagran, Kishangarh, Kaimbwala, Khudda Ali Sher, Khudda Jassu, Khudda Lahora, Sarangpur and Dhanas were transferred in the year 2019 and the general house of MCC had already approved the proposal of Rs. 102 crore development works in these villages. The plan prepared by the MCC engineering wing and upgrading the sewage system and improving drinking water supply system in these villages will be the top priority of the MCC. The process will be completed within stipulated time frame and work will be started as soon as possible.
