96 units of blood collected at camp organized by PGIMER & Thalassemic Trust
Thalassemic Charitable Trust organized its 310th blood donation camp on 25.01.25. They collaborated with the Department of Transfusion Medicine PGIMER, Chandigarh. The event celebrated the 76th Republic Day. It also marked the birthday of Shri Subhash Chandra Bose on 23rd January.
Blood Donation Camp for Thalassemia Patients
The Blood Donation Complex of PGIMER organized the camp for patients of Thalassaemia. Thalassemics need life long blood transfusions after 15-20 days to keep optimum level of hemoglobin for survival. 96 units were collected from voluntary blood donors.
“Thalassemia Awareness and Blood Donation Milestone at Camp”
Shri Rajinder Kalra gave a thalassemia awareness lecture to a group of students from MCM College, Sector 36 Chandigarh visiting the camp. He also took them for a round of the thalassemia ward. Dr. Viney Sood, Finance Secretary of the Trust celebrated his 25th blood donation in this camp.

Prof(Dr) R R Sharma HoD, Department of Transfusion Medicine PGIMER and Shri Rajinder Kalra, Member Secretary of the Trust thanked voluntary blood donors and team of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER for the success of this camp. They emphasised the need for voluntary blood donation to save precious lives needing blood support.
