8th Anniversary of Smart Cities Mission celebrated by Chandigarh Smart City Limited
Exposure Visit of Team Chandigarh Bytes along with City Residents to ICCC, Chandigarh
Chandigarh, 23rd June, 2023:: Chandigarh Smart City Limited organized a visit of Social Media Influencers Team Chandigarh Bytes along with city residents to Integrated Command & Control Centre, Sector 17, Chandigarh in view of celebration of 8th Anniversary of Smart Cities Mission.
Smart Cities Mission is completing its 8 years on 25th June, 2023. Mission was launched by the Hon’ Prime Minister on 25 June, 2015. The main objective of the Mission is to promote cities that provide core infrastructure, clean and sustainable environment and give a decent quality of life to their citizens through the application of ‘smart solutions’. For this 100 cities were selected to be developed as Smart Cities through a two-stage competition and Chandigarh is one of them. Focused on improving the quality of life of citizens, the Mission encompasses diverse and complex projects in multiple sectors including mobility, water, sanitation, housing, environment, safety, health, education among others. These initiatives have been appreciated at both National and International levels.
To celebrate the 8th Anniversary of Smart Cities Mission, Chandigarh Smart City Limited invited and collaborated with Social Media Influencers Chandigarh Bytes. Bytes team organized an exhilarating giveaway on Instagram where they provided the unique opportunity for their 107k followers to visit the Integrated Command & Control Centre for the exposure visit. The announcement of this giveaway generated an overwhelming response, with followers in expressing their excitement, enthusiasm, and curiosity. Numerous inquiries and thought-provoking questions received from passionate audience and audience expressed the excitement to get the chance to visit the State of Art Command Centre of Smart City Chandigarh.
During the visit to ICCC, the guests witnessed the Brain of City in action and were amazed to see the system of E-Governance, Data Integration, CCTV Surveillance, challan system and other services being done under the ICCC project of Chandigarh Smart City. A demonstration on live functioning of ICCC enabled citizen centric services like Management of Traffic, Solid Waste Management, Public Bike Sharing, Intelligent Traffic Management System, Adaptive Traffic Control System, E-Governance, Sewerage, Electricity and Smart Lighting was given on the video wall in ICCC.
“CCTV surveillance cameras have reduced the incidents like vehicle theft, irresponsible driving, Loitering, illegal parking Trespassing. We are striving to provide efficient service deliveries, a safe and secure environment and better quality of life to the citizens.
