Chandigarh : March 20 : A two day virtual CME cum workshop on “Women’s Health and Wellness” was organized by the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, PGIMER, Chandigarh under the aegis of FOGSI on 19th and 20th March 2022.
The conference was inaugurated with a welcome note from President, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Society of Northern India and Head of the Department Dr. Vanita Suri. The Vice President, North Zone , FOGSI Dr. Archana Verma graced the occasion with her motivational words aimed to further decrease the maternal mortality of India.
The highlights of the 1st day of Conference were interactive workshops on Research Methodology and Safe Clinic Practices. Both the workshops were conducted by eminent experts of the fields and were attended by more than 400 delegates each.
The 2nd day of the conference began with free paper presentation by young resident doctors of various medical colleges of North India. The day proceeded from pre-connectional care to early detection of fetal malformations and aneuploidies to ensure an overall positive pregnancy outcome for all our women.
In view of the increasing incidence of non communicable diseases in pregnancy, a panel discussion involving physicians and super specialists besides obstetricians to ponder on the common medical diseases in pregnancy was the need of the hour and was the highlight of the day. Besides pregnancy, other important issues of women’s health such as prevention of cervical cancer & early detection and treatment of ovarian cancer were adequately discussed with multidisciplinary experts from all over the country.
Overall, this event proved to be a huge academic feast for the obstetric fraternity of North India.
