There was also an effort to burn the stone sculpture of the Constitution in Amritsar on the Republic Day. A delegation of senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP ) Punjab today met Governor Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria, here at Chandigarh.

Vandalism : this incident was part of a larger conspiracy.

BJP leaders met the Governor. They explained that this incident was part of a larger conspiracy. This conspiracy aims to incite unrest and deepen communal divides in Punjab. It is crucial to uncover the real motives behind this shameful act. We need to find the masterminds and find out the individuals involved. This includes those who have orchestrated it for political motives. BJP leaders justified the investigation by an independent agency, not under the control of the Punjab Govt. They clearly stated that the spot was just 100 meters away from the police station. The incident still happened. There is strong apprehension that the said deplorable incident could not have happened without the involvement of the state machinery and the involvement of the ruling AAP government of Punjab.
