Chandigarh, February 4– In a major relief to Aarthiyas, the Haryana Government has approved a reimbursement to compensate for the weight loss due to moisture during the Rabi procurement season of 2024-25. The State Government will borne a total of Rs 3,09,95,541 to compensate the losses incurred by the Aarthiyas.
The Haryana Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, made this decision during its meeting here today.
The Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department will bear Rs 77,22,010, the Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) will cover Rs 1,71,16,926, and the Haryana State Warehouse Corporation (HSWC) will bear Rs 61,56,605.
Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini here today approved the amendment in the Haryana Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961.
Act No. 19 of 2024 has excluded land in Shamilat Deh, which the Collector leased out before the commencement of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Rules, 1964, under the Haryana Utilization of Lands Act, 1949, for a period of 20 years, from the ambit of Shamilat Deh. As a result, the authorities have approved the deletion of the provision related to leasing such lands.
In addition, the Act previously stated that the Gram Panchayat could sell land up to 500 square yards occupied by unauthorized constructed houses at not less than the market rate. Now, the Cabinet has approved that the Rules will prescribe the rate at which such land can be sold. Furthermore, while the State Government previously held the power to grant approval in such cases, the decision now grants this approval authority to the Director Panchayats instead of the State Government.
