AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang said that Sajjan Kumar is clearly guilty in the 1984 Sikh riots. These riots were sponsored by the Congress party. He stated that the conviction of Kumar has rekindled some hope of justice for the victimized families.
Kang remarked that although it has taken decades, the court’s decision is commendable. He said that this judgment has strengthened people’s faith in the judicial system.He hoped that authorities would soon punish the other culprits and give Kumar the strictest punishment.
Avenue Court’s Special Judge Kaveri Baweja convicted Sajjan Kumar
Notably, assailants killed a father and son in the Saraswati Vihar area on November 1, 1984. In the same case, Rouse Avenue Court’s Special Judge Kaveri Baweja convicted Sajjan Kumar on Wednesday. The authorities brought Kumar, who has been in jail for the past six years, to court from prison. The court will decide the sentence on February 18.
