Mann Government’s New Ambulances: A Lifeline for Every Punjabi

In Punjab, the Bhagwant Mann government has once again proven that nothing is more important to them than public welfare. Whether it’s an emergency or a disaster, Punjab’s ambulance service is always ready to save lives Since last year, the government has inducted a large number of modern, GPS-equipped ambulances into service. In July 2024, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann flagged off 58 new high-tech ambulances, and in June 2025, 46 more state-of-the-art ambulances were added to the state’s fleet. This brings the total number of government ambulances in Punjab to 371, providing immediate assistance to patients in every district and town.

The government has also strictly enforced a time limit. Ambulances must be available within 15 minutes in urban areas. In rural areas, they should be available within 20 minutes. Between January and July 2024 alone, over 100,000 patients were safely transported to hospitals, including 10,737 heart patients and 28,540 pregnant women. A total of 80 children were also born safely inside these ambulances.

However, the biggest example of the Mann government’s sensitivity and foresight was seen during the recent flood crisis. When water submerged roads and villages, the government converted boats, tractors, and temporary floats into “boat ambulances.” These were used to deliver medicines to villages and safely transport needy patients to hospitals. Even in these difficult conditions, four children were born safely, and many lives were saved in time.

This was all possible because the Mann government has made healthcare a priority. The people of Punjab are now receiving prompt and reliable service in every emergency. Modern GPS-based ambulances, the Road Safety Force, and the 108 helpline contribute to this service.
