Chandigarh, January 12: : On Sunday, 3329 candidates appeared in the entrance exam. The 15th course will commence at the prestigious Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali), through the exam. A record number of boys (4128) have registered themselves for the entrance test this year. This response has been largely due to the concerted efforts of the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government and high success rate of the Institute.

Major General Inspects Entrance Exam Centers

Notably, the Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training, headed by Cabinet Minister Mr. Aman Arora, runs the Institute. Director of MRSAFPI Major General (Retd.) Ajay H Chauhan, VSM, conducted surprise inspection at a examination centre set up at School of Eminence, Phase-3B1, Mohali. Three examination centres were set up for the entrance test. These tests took place at the School of Eminence, Phase-3B1, Mohali; Police DAV Public School, PAP Complex, Jalandhar; and MSD Senior Secondary School, Bathinda. Despite the inclement weather, however, young boys still turned up in large numbers to appear for the test.

MRSAFPI : The selection process will choose the top 150 candidates for NDA training

Major General Ajay H Chauhan said that the authorities will call the top 150 successful candidates for the final selection process. The process, which will take place at a later date, includes both an interview and a medical examination. Following this, forty-eight candidates will be selected from across Punjab. This selection will be based on their performance in the final process.They will undergo training to join the Armed Forces through the National Defence Academy (NDA) and equivalent academies. This will occur under the watchful eyes of experienced and highly qualified staff of the Institute. He further informed that, since the CM Mann-led Punjab Government came into power, the Institute has successfully commissioned a total of 74 cadets as officers in Defence Services. Furthermore, of these cadets, 64 have already joined training academies, while 12 others are currently awaiting their call-up letters.
