
PERSONS VISITING VILLAGES TO ENTICE LOCAL RESIDENTS TO GIVE PERSONAL DOCUMENTS UNDER ALLUREMENT OF ENROLMENT IN GOVERNMENT SCHEMES
CHANDIGARH, August 22: In the last 24 hours, Punjab Police has received complaints. Some individuals, claiming to be from a particular political party, are collecting personal data. They also collect money from people as commissions to get their government work done. A Punjab Police spokesperson stated that some citizens have complained. They reported giving their bank account numbers to the persons who contacted them. Subsequently, their bank accounts have been emptied of all money.
The spokesperson added that officials are examining all such complaints and will take strict action as per law.We urge the public to stay away from such anti-social elements.Do not give any personal data to anyone, as someone could misuse it. Such private illegal agents offer to get government work done. People should avoid approaching them. The Government has set up many ‘Sewa Kendras’ across Punjab. People may approach any ‘Sewa Kendra’ or any Punjab government office for their government work. People should not pay any commission or dalali to anyone from any political party for any government work.

The spokesperson stated that they received credible reports. Certain persons are illegally collecting personal data of local residents. The State Government urged citizens not to share their personal information with unauthorised persons or agencies. Someone may misuse this information at any stage. Authorities have advised citizens to remain vigilant and immediately report any such incident
