Chandigarh, July 8: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and National Convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday ushered new era of health revolution in state as with launch of Mukh Mantri Sehat Beema Yojna Punjab became first state in the country to provide cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh to all its residents
CM Launches Scheme for Free Rs 10 Lakh Cashless Treatment
The Chief Minister launched the Mukh Mantri Sehat Beema Yojna and addressed the gathering here today.He said that a number of families across the state are suffering from serious ailments. They can’t afford to get quality treatment due to its high cost. He said that people just gave up. They have to either sell their land or house to get treatment for the diseases. Bhagwant Singh Mann bemoaned the situation. He explained that it is because of the lackluster performance of the earlier regimes. They had never bothered to pay heed to this issue.
The Chief Minister said that now with the launch of this policy all the residents of the state will be entitled for cashless treatment worth Rs 10 lakh. He said that the treatment will be free in all the empanelled hospitals of the state government thereby giving a huge succour to the common man. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now residents of the state won’t have to spend a single penny from their pockets to get treated for serious ailments.

The Chief Minister said that Arvind Kejriwal brought sectors like health, education, power, water, and infrastructure to the centre stage of national politics. He added that his government has made these sectors its top five priorities and is leaving no stone unturned to improve them. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the other political parties have always pursued the agenda of hatred and divisiveness. Meanwhile, AAP, under Kejriwal, had given new direction to politics by prioritizing these sectors.
The Chief Minister said that the card will be issued free of cost. It will be provided to the people without formalities. This will pave the way for providing quality treatment to them. He said that this is contrary to what the other governments are doing across the country. He added that the PM now even demands proof of birth from people who have been voting for decades.Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab had suffered the brunt of the partition. During this time, millions of people were killed. Others were displaced.
CM Slams Unfair Ban, Criticizes Centre’s Political Drama
The Chief Minister said that self-proclaimed nationalists, envious of Punjab and Punjabis, have unnecessarily targeted Punjabis. He cited the case of the movie of Actor Diljit Dosanjh. He said that the filmmakers had released the actor’s movie long before the Pahalgam attack. However, the authorities unnecessarily banned it in the country.Bhagwant Singh Mann said Punjabis have always played a key role in making the country self-reliant in food production. They have also been crucial in safeguarding the borders of the nation.
The Chief Minister said that in the recent war like situation with Pakistan, Punjab suffered adversely. The country also witnessed political drama in the name of Operation Sindoor. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is ironic. The BJP and Union government sent Sindoor to every household without any rationale. They made a mockery of the emotions of the people. He said these were mere theatrics by those in power at the centre. The wise people of the state and the country never fell prey to it.
CM Slams Unjust Ban on Punjabis and Calls Out Centre’s Gimmicks
The Chief Minister said that a learned person like Arvind Kejriwal is the solution to all the country’s ills. He said that when a person like Kejriwal leads the country, only then will it lead the world. At that time, all the social maladies will be removed. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is clear that the day is not far away. People are eagerly waiting to show the door to the current PM.
The Chief Minister said this pious land has produced saints, seers, martyrs, legendary players, and generals. However, he pointed out that earlier governments unfortunately patronized smugglers. This patronage allowed gangsters and other criminals to make this state their home. Now, Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized, the state government has launched a determined crusade to drive out these anti-national elements.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the ‘Jarnails’ responsible for pyres of youth will be held accountable. They will have to pay for their sins. He said that these haughty politicians were fond of posing for pictures by swirling their moustaches. Now they are behind the bars. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders have ruined generations of the state. They will have to pay the price of their sins. The state government will make sure that they get exemplary punishment for their misdeeds.
