World Boxing Gold in USA : CM Congratulates Hemant Sangwan

Chandigarh, November 17– Haryana’s Chief Minister, Mr. Nayab Singh Saini, expressed his sincere congratulations to Hemant Sangwan for recently winning the Under-19 Gold Medal at the Youth World Boxing Championship held in Colorado, USA. The Chief Minister also conveyed his hopes for Hemant’s ongoing success in his future pursuits, particularly with the 2028 Olympics on the horizon, and expressed optimism for a fulfilling and rewarding career in sports moving forward.

The meeting was held today at the PWD Rest House located in Civil Lines, Gurugram, where Hemant’s coach, Mr. Hitesh Deshwal, was also in attendance. During the event, Chief Minister Mr. Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that Haryana has always been a breeding ground for exceptional sporting talent, with athletes from the state achieving remarkable feats on the global stage.

In addition, he highlighted that “Haryana’s initiatives in sports, focused on discovering and developing talent, have set a benchmark for other regions.” Furthermore, he added, “Our athletes consistently bring honor to both the state and the country by excelling in various international competitions. Moreover, their unwavering dedication and hard work not only further inspire the next generation but also reinforce the values of perseverance and determination.”

The Chief Minister added, “Athletes hailing from Haryana have consistently showcased the national flag with pride, and I believe their future successes will only increase. With major events like the 2028 Olympics approaching, our athletes are ready to earn even greater recognition for the nation.”
Hemant Sangwan, a resident of Ram Nagar in Jhajjar, apprised the Chief Minister about his victory at the Youth World Boxing Championship, which took place from October 23 to November 2, 2024, in Colorado. Hemant shared that the championship featured top young boxers from around the world, with 19 Indian athletes competing across different weight categories. In the final, Hemant faced Rishon Sims from the USA and triumphed with a 4-1 victory, securing the Under-19 World Champion title.
