Congress leaders are talking about canceling panchayat elections due to fear of defeat – Malvinder Kang

People of the villages are not giving importance to Congress candidates this time; that is why they are unnerved - Kang

During the Congress, Akali governments, panchayats were sold, and there was large-scale hooliganism in the elections; the AAP government has put an end to this – Kang

Chandigarh, October 14

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sharply criticised Congress leader and LoP Pratap Singh Bajwa for demanding cancellation of the panchayat elections. AAP MP and senior spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang stated that Congress leaders are talking about canceling the elections out of fear of a major defeat.

Kang said that Congress is unnerved. They are targeting our leaders and candidates with bullets while complaining to the Election Commission about us. Despite this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the AAP government are continuously working to ensure that the elections are held fairly and peacefully, so that village development can accelerate.

He mentioned that Cong  is lagging far behind in this election. People are not giving any importance to Congress candidates because they have seen their actions in the past. This time, people have decided to elect candidates associated with the Aam Aadmi Party as sarpanchs. The public wants to support the Mann government to contribute to Punjab’s progress. This is why leaders from Akali Dal and Congress are anxious.

Kang added that during the Cong  and Akali governments, panchayats were sold, and there was widespread violence during elections. The AAP government has ended this culture and made the elections more transparent. Therefore, our government decided that the sarpanch should be from the village, not from any party. This has upset Congress and Akali leaders, and Pratap Bajwa has proven this point.
