CHANDIGARH, July 19:** The Shri Guru Ravidass Vishwa Mahapeeth has appointed Vijay Sampla, former President of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and former Union Minister, as its acting international president.

Accepting this prestigious position, Sampla expressed his deep respect and pride in taking up this new responsibility. He committed to spreading the ideals of Guru Ravidas Ji worldwide and pledged to make every effort to fulfill the objectives of the Mahapeeth.

Sampla said that his motive will be promoting equality, justice, and brotherhood in society.

Joining him in the new executive team are Dushyant Kumar Gautam, former Rajya Sabha member, as International President; Dr. L Murugan, Union Minister of State, as International Vice President; and Suresh Rathore, former Uttarakhand MLA, as National President.

The Shri Guru Ravidas Vishwa Mahapeeth aims to spread Guru Ravidas’s teachings and maintain Hindu unity by addressing the rise in religious conversions in the country.

Suraj Bhan Kataria, General Secretary of the Shri Guru Ravidass Vishwa Mahapeeth, noted that Vijay Sampla’s previous role as National President of the Scheduled Caste Commission showcased his dedication to the community, leading to his current appointment.

“We are confident that Sampla Ji will become a strong voice against religious conversion,” Kataria said.

His political career started as the Sarpanch of Sofi Pind near Jalandhar. He then joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), where he held several key positions, demonstrating his commitment. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he won from the Hoshiarpur constituency and served as an MP. As Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment,

he made notable contributions to the upliftment of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, implementing key schemes and policies in social justice, education, and employment.
