Chandigarh/Lehragaga, April 16:
“Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led government is transforming government schools through the ‘Punjab Sikhya Kranti’ campaign by modernizing their infrastructure and making them contemporary”, said Punjab Cabinet Minister Sh. Barinder Kumar Goyal after dedicating development projects worth Rs.1.41 crore in 9 government schools of Lehragaga constituency.
While addressing the gathering, the Cabinet Minister said that comprehensive efforts are being made at every level to make government education better under the Punjab Sikhya Kranti campaign. As a result, students’ morale is improving and parents are confident that they’ve made the right choice in trusting government schools for their children’s bright future.
Sh. Goyal said, “With the effective initiatives of Mann Government, students are now leaving private schools and preferring government institutions, which proves that the Punjab Government’s education model is being widely appreciated.” The Punjab Government is sending its teachers to premier national and international training institutes to equip them with modern teaching techniques.
Sh. Barinder Kumar Goyal also highlighted various welfare schemes being implemented by the Mann Government for public welfare.
“The Mann Government has fulfilled Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision and it is historic that for the first time, the Mann Government has included six ministers from Scheduled Castes in the Cabinet, implemented reservations in the Advocate General office and ensured smooth distribution of scholarships”, said the Cabinet Minister, adding that to realize the great visionary leader’s dreams, the Punjab Government is making substantial efforts to revitalize the state’s health and education systems.
He said that sending children to government schools was once considered a necessity for common people, but now the education system is being reshaped, resulting in people willingly enrolling their children in government schools. He said that Schools of Eminence have been established throughout the state to provide quality education to students and similarly, the government healthcare system is also being upgraded.
