Governor urges students to keep pace with modern technologies

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, while addressing the sixth convocation of Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) at Waknaghat in Solan district today said that India was experiencing a technological renaissance with unprecedented advances in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning and other innovative fields and to keep pace with these advanced technologies the students should be well equipped with the skills and knowledge to make significant contributions in the development of the country.
The Governor said technology and engineering were the integral parts of nation-building. Engineers and scientists were the builders of modern society, driving innovation and creating solutions that meet the needs of our communities. He urged the students to use their knowledge and skills to bring about positive change, build a more inclusive society and promote sustainable development.
While congratulating the degree holders, Shri Shukla said that they should remember that the force behind their success were their parents, guardians, professors and faculty. He said that the occasion marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another with vast scope of infinite possibilities and opportunities”. These advancements were revolutionizing industries, creating new employment opportunities and paving the way for a future rich in possibilities, he added. He told the graduating students that they need to be at the forefront of this transformative era.
He said that the students should remain indebted to the institution in which they have studied which also has a pivotal role in shaping their future towards betterment.
He conferred Gold Medals to the Students who have secured the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in their respective branch of M.Tech, M. Pharma, B.Tech & B. Pharma Degrees programmes respectively for 2015 to 2020 graduating batches.
Earlier, while congratulating the students, Manoj Gaur, Pro Chancellor JUIT said that success should not be confined to acquiring material wealth or professional acclaim. Rather, let it be measured by the impact you make upon the lives of others and the legacy you leave upon the records of history. He advised the students, be disciplined and be a nice human being.
Prof. R. K. Sharma, Vice- Chancellor, JUIT welcomed the Governor and expressed his gratitude to all the stakeholders including parents and students for their support and cooperation in making JUIT a world class university. He also presented the annual report of JUIT with important key achievements.
Later, Vice Chancellor Dr. R. K. Sharma conferred 3125 degrees to the students in the presence of the Governor.
C.P. Verma, Secretary to Governor, Manmohan Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Solan, Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh, Members of the Governing and Academic Council, guests, parents, faculty members and alumni of JUIT, and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
