Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday appealed to the people of Garhshankar to ensure a massive victory for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Malvinder Singh Kang from Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency. When Bhagwant Mann’s convoy was going to Pojewal, the people of Garhshankar stopped CM Mann’s convoy on the way and showered him with flowers and expressed their support. Bhagwant Mann thanked the people of Garhshankar for their love and support and said that the second biggest post in the assembly, Deputy Speaker Jai Kishan Singh Rouri, is from Garhshankar itself.

While addressing the people, Bhagwant Mann praised Garhshankar MLA Jai Kishan Singh Rouri and said that he is very active and sincere for the development of Garhshankar. He often meets me regarding the works of electricity, water, canal, road etc. of this area and doesn’t stop until the work is done. He knows how to get the work done. Mann said that Garhshankar bypass is also going to be constructed soon. Then the pace of development will be accelerated here.

A young man from the crowd said that he asked for a photo with CM Mann, he immediately and happily obliged. This is the first time that a CM is so approachable, previous ministers used to have a high security circle and used to lathi-charge the people to disperse the crowd. Mann said that he is one of them. All AAP leaders are from common backgrounds.

Addressing the crowd Mann said that he is fighting for Punjab and its people. I’m fighting in the Supreme court, I’m fighting against the BJP, centre and governor. And I’ll keep fighting for you, I only need your support, give us 13 MPs from Punjab and see how we work for you with doubled energy. Mann said that he needs the passion of youth and experience of the elderly to make Punjab Rangla again. This system was put in tangles in the last 70 years. It will take some time and constant support from the people to right all the wrongs.

He said that I am working day and night for the development of Punjab. Farmers are now getting 11 hours of electricity in the day, which is saving both their time and energy. At night, we are selling electricity to other states. This time we earned 90 crores by selling electricity.

He said that earlier only 21% of canal water was used for irrigation. We have made canal water accessible to 59% of fields. By October it will be 70%. Then about 6.5 lakh tube wells of Punjab will be stopped. This will also increase the groundwater level of Punjab and will also save about 6000 crores. He said that soon mothers and sisters will get ₹1000 every month as promised.

Mann said that he is not into politics for money and fame, he earned both enough during his career as a comedian. He is only here to serve the people of Punjab and to fix the system. He said that he used to criticize the corrupt system as a comedian and now as the CM he is fixing this system. He said that he always prays to God that he never takes any decision that will harm anyone or take away anyone’s livelihood.

Mann said that the BJP is highly mistaken for thinking that they can stop Arvind Kejriwal and his thinking by putting him in jail. But Arvind Kejriwal and his ideas are like a river and rivers make their own path. They won’t be able to stop the Aam Aadmi Party because everyone in this party is Arvind Kejriwal.
