Congress Party’s Regressive Stance on Women Exposed: BJP
Chandigarh: 4 April; The un parliamentarian statement made by a senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewal against Hema Malani is most unfortunate and reflects the regressive mindset of Congress party. Said Ms Jasmine Sandhawalia here today at a press conference.
Speaking to the media at the state party headquarters Sandhawalia said that Women constitute half the population and it was unfortunate that Congress which had woman Prime Minister Ms Indira Gandhi and Ms Sonia Gandhi as Party President is stooping to such low levels as calling opposition women leaders by unparliamentarily words.
Reasoning that this is not the first time that a senior congress leader is being abusive Sandhawalia said that senior leaders of party like ex Chief Minister Mr DIgvijay Singh , Rajha Sabha Member Mr Abishek Manu Singhvi, Renuka Chaudry are all on record for making derogatory comments on women. She said.
The Congress party should explain its stand on women and take appropriate action against its party leaders who are on record for using regressive and insulting words against women. “
The women of this nation have a history of teaching a befitting lesson to the people who try and oppress them. Congress needs to refrain from discrimination against half the population of this nation. “On the other hand
The BJP is one party which has given equality, honour and respect to women. The first historic bill passed in the New Parliament was the “ Women reservation bill”. She said.
