Transformative Healthcare and Education Initiatives in Punjab: Governor
Total of 1.07 crores of people having visited the Aam Aadmi clinics
In his Governor address to the state legislature, the Governor of Punjab, Banwari Lal Purohit, highlighted several groundbreaking schemes in the important sectors of Health and Education. Notably, there are 664 successfully operational Aam Aadmi Clinics throughout the state of Punjab, with a total of 1.07 crores of people having visited the clinics to seek medical treatment.
Medicines worth Rs. 450 crores at prevailing market rates and diagnostic tests worth Rs. 70 crores have been provided to the patients at these clinics, significantly reducing the out-of-pocket expenditure on healthcare for the people of the state by a whopping amount of Rs. 650 crores.

The Government said My government also commits to providing free medicines to all patients in Government Hospitals. This year alone, it has purchased medicines worth Rs. 222 Cr. for the supply of free medicines in Government Hospitals. Additionally, the Government dedicates itself to providing X-ray and Ultrasound facilities in all District Hospitals, Sub-Divisional Hospitals, and Community Health Centers.

The Government said My government also commits To promote preventive healthcare, we have launched the C.M. Di Yogshala program, offering free Yoga classes across the state, benefiting 35,000 citizens daily through 300 certified instructors and 1500 daily classes.
Furthermore, the Government established the Punjab Institute of Liver Biliary Sciences in Mohali, along with the State Cancer Institute at Government Medical College Amritsar and the Tertiary Cancer Center at Fazilka, providing critical services to our citizens.

In the realm of education, my government is steadfast in its commitment to upgrading infrastructure and improving the quality of education in all government schools.
said My government To achieve this, we recruited 9518 teachers and regularised 12316 long-serving employees, ensuring stability and enhancing remuneration.
The Governor stated that significant progress under the “Punjab Sikhya Kranti” initiative has advanced school infrastructure development, including providing boundary walls, internet connectivity, toilet repairs, and distributing 95,000 dual desks.
Efforts are also underway to elevate 118 Government Senior Secondary Schools into Schools of Eminence, equipped with smart classrooms, labs, and playgrounds, fostering scientific learning environments.
