Transparency: Core of Ghar Ghar Muft Ration Scheme : Kataruchak

   Another 2000 E-PoS machines procured to speed up pace of distribution

Chandigarh, February 21:The Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak emphasised in a meeting held at the Anaj Bhawan the transparency of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, as reflected in the recently launched Ghar Ghar Muft Ration Scheme.

This scheme guarantees the delivery of packaged wheat/atta to beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act, 2013, through Model Fair Price Shops conveniently located at their doorsteps.

This system establishes a Transparency  mechanism that enhances accessibility and accountability throughout the distribution process, ensuring that beneficiaries receive their entitled provisions efficiently and effectively.

627 Model Fair Price Shops are operational

During the occasion, officials briefed the Minister about the operational status of a total of 627 Model Fair Price Shops throughout the State. They also reported that the number of beneficiary families linked with these shops exceeds 6.36 Lakh at present. Additionally, the officials informed the Minister that Jalandhar District is currently leading in the distribution work.

Acquired an additional 2000 E-PoS machines

      The department has recently acquired an additional 2000 E-PoS machines to expedite the process of wheat distribution, aiming to accomplish the distribution of wheat by March 31st of the current year. Among those in attendance at the meeting were the Director of the department, Puneet Goyal, along with the Additional Director, Dr. Anjuman Bhaskar, among others.
