this scheme covers nearly all government services
This scheme covers almost all government services, excluding arms licenses, Aadhaar cards, and stamp papers. It enables doorstep services for various tasks like birth, marriage, death, income, residence, caste, rural area, border area, backward area, pension, electricity bill payment, land demarcation certificates, and more.
A helpline number, “1076,” allows people to schedule appointments for efficient task completion. Upon confirmation, individuals receive details about necessary documents, fees, etc., via SMS. Specially trained staff with tablets visit homes/offices at scheduled times to complete paperwork, collect fees, and provide receipts. Citizens can track their applications using the receipts, with soft copies sent to mobile phones and hard copies delivered to homes.
Kang emphasized that this scheme significantly eases lives, eliminating the need to visit government offices. Previously, individuals endured long queues.
The implementation of this scheme also frees people from reliance on middlemen.
