Haryana Chief Minister announces closure of six Toll Plazas, Saving commuters Rs 13.50 crore annually

 

Chandigarh, Oct 26 – In a significant decision, Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal has announced the closure of six toll plazas located on state highways. This strategic move is set to bring immense relief to the general public.

Announcing the closure of toll plazas during a press conference here today, the Chief Minister said that with the closing of these toll plazas, the public would save Rs 13.50 crore annually.

Three toll plazas located at village Bisharpur (Narnaual-Nizampur road) near Rajasthan Border on State Highway-17, village Tatiana (Kaithal-Patiala Road) near Punjab Border SH-11, and village Gujjarwas (Subana-Kosli-Nahar-Kanina road) SH-22 will cease operations from November 1, 2023.

Similarly, toll plaza at village Sangatpura (Kaithal-Khannori road) near Punjab border SH-8 will be closed from November 10 while toll plazas at village Ashgarpur )Kalaamb –Sadhaura-Shahbad road) near Himachal Pradesh Border SH-4 and at village Firozpur (Rohtak-Kharkhoda-Delhi road) near Delhi border SH-18 would be shut down on December 1, 2023.

The decision to close these toll plazas comes in response to demands from people residing in the nearby areas. Chief Minister has recognized the financial burden and inconvenience these toll plazas have placed on the public and have taken this step to alleviate these concerns.

Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh. Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh. V. Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. Amit Agrawal, OSD to Chief Minister Sh Jawahar Yadav, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Sh. Bharat Bhushan Bharti, Media Secretary Sh. Parveen Attrey, Chief Media Coordinator Sh Sudesh Kataria and others were also present on this occasion.
