Meghalaya MLAs pay courtesy call to Governor Punjab

CHANDIGARH, MAY 23: A delegation of Meghalaya MLAs paid a courtesy call to the Governor Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri Banwari Lal Purohit here today at Punjab Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh.

       Shri Banwari Lal Puorhit who has been the Governor of Meghalaya during the year 2017 recollected his memories of the State and shared that the scenic beauty of the State is beyond comparison and added that he had a memorable stint in Meghalaya.

       Sharing the mantra for successful public life, the Governor exhorted the newly elected MLAs to work religiously, with complete dedication and honesty. He asked them to observe total transparency in their working and adhere to the Gandhian ideals of ‘Simple living, High thinking’. He also gave them insight into time management and value of reading good books.

       Later, the Governor concluded with the suggestion that the MLAs who have been bestowed with the opportunity to serve their State and the Nation, should do so to the best of their abilities in order to make India a Vishava Guru.

       Meghalaya Legislative Assembly delegation comprised of one M.P., 31 MLAs representing different political parties and 14 Meghalaya Legislative Research Fellows who had come to Punjab to attend a Workshop at ISB, Mohali. The Meghalaya delegation expressed their gratitude to the Governor for valuable insights and their warm reception and hospitality during their visit.
