Dr. Abhinav Trikha IAS Mission Director National Health Mission Punjab here today addressed the participants at the Regional Conference organized by Hemophilia Advocacy Society, Punjab in association with GGSMCH Faridkot under the guidance of NHM Punjab, Dept of Health & Family Welfare Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
He reassured the Hemophilia Community that the State and NHM will make best efforts for improving the quality of life of all the persons with hemophilia.
In this 2 day conference an attempt was made to bring patients, patient bodies and the State Medical Departments on the same page. Attendees of the conference included treating doctors of all Integrated Hemophilia Care Centres of all 23 districts of Punjab, office bearers of Hemophilia Advocacy Society Punjab, Hemophilia Society Haryana and Hemophilia Society of J&K. Special invitees include experts from PGIMER Chandigarh, AIIMS New Delhi, AIIMS Bathinda, LNJP New Delhi, PGI CH Noida and Faculty from Government Medical Colleges of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and J&K. Dr. Naresh Gupta from LNJP, New Delhi emphasised on changing the perspective in seeing the Patients suffering from Hemophilia not as Hemophilics, but to be called Persons with Hemophilia since even such people can lead a healthy life, given comprehensive care. Patient bodies requested for regular supply of life saving drugs and emphasized on adopting newer and more effective drugs in the armamentarium of drugs used for the treatment of Hemophilia.
