Chandigarh, April 29: The spree of providing government jobs to unemployed youth by the Punjab Government brought unbounded joy for Parwinder Kaur’s family as she received appointment letter from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. It was double delight for the family since not only Parwinder Kaur but also her brother Harwinder Singh got selected as clerk in Technical Education Department on the same time.
Hailing from Satauj village of Sangrur district, both siblings expressed their gratitude to Punjab Government for fulfilling their promise of providing jobs to the youngsters across the state. Harwinder Singh received appointment letter from Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. “Our wishes to stay and serve in Punjab have come true with Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann continues its endeavour to fill the vacant posts resulting in jobs for both of us” said Harwinder exhilaratingly.
Now his sister would not be settling abroad, said Harwinder adding that Parwinder had secured six bands in IELTS and she was planning to proceed towards foreign shores due to prevalent unemployment in the state. He further mentioned that these timely filled vacancies by the Punjab Government would keep the family intact in Punjab on one hand and doing away from the fury of brain drain. He disclosed that earlier they both had missed their place in list of appointment as Patwaris due to minimal scores i.e. 1.5 marks short in written exams, thereafter both made all out efforts in preparing for IT Clerks exams and succeeded in cracking the same. Now they got appointed as clerks in Technical Education Department, he added.
Harwinder said they were three siblings including two brothers and one sister. His younger brother got recruitment as an airman after completing his senior secondary and is now promoted to the rank of Corporal in Indian Air Force.
Pertinently, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has handed over as many as 29,000 appointment letters of Government jobs to the youngsters during his tenure of 13 months.
