Jimpa’s efforts bear fruit: CM sanctions Rs 13.74 crore for Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni road

With persistent efforts of Punjab Revenue Minister and Hoshiarpur MLA Bram Shanker Jimpa, the work on Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur-Chintpurni road is going to be started from April 1. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has sanctioned Rs 13.74 crore for the construction of the road. Tenders have also been floated for the construction of the road.
During the press conference at Punjab Bhawan, Jimpa said that the people of Doaba area, especially Hoshiarpur, were extremely disappointed because of the dilapidated condition of this road. Many precious lives were lost due to daily accidents, but the previous governments did not pay any heed towards this serious issue.
He said that this road is very important because many people pass through this road including devotees visit important religious places like Mata Chintapurni ji, Mata Jawala ji, Mata Kangra Devi ji, Mata Chamunda Devi ji, Mata Bagalamukhi ji and Baba Balak Nath ji.
Jimpa said that millions of people also travel through Hoshiarpur to visit the famous tourist cities of Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj in North India. Therefore, considering the importance of this road, special attention should be given to its development. He thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO for sanctioning money for road construction.
He further informed that tenders have been floated for the construction of this 39 km long road and the work is likely to start from April 1. About 14 km area of the road falls in Jalandhar district and 25 km area in Hoshiarpur district. Pertinently, Jimpa has been making efforts for this road construction since the first day and has also held meetings with several Union Ministers and fellow ministers of the Punjab Cabinet. Now, due to his sincere efforts, this road will be ready soon.
