
The committee, in its report presented by MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha today, stated that the department should take disciplinary action against Kaur as per rules
Chandigarh , March 24 ( Naresh Sharma ) : The Privileges Committee of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha has recommended strict Disciplinary action. This is against Babljit Kaur, Senior Assistant (Accounts) in the Rural Development and Panchayat Department. The recommendation comes in response to negligence and misconduct observed in her duties.
The committee presented its report in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha today, led by MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori. It stated that the department should take disciplinary action against t Babljit Kaur as per rules. and further recommended suspending her services. It also advised ensuring she is not appointed to any public-facing role in the future. This is due to her lack of professionalism in dealing with public representatives.
MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori filed a breach of privilege complaint. It was against Babljit Kaur, who served as BDPO, Mahal Kalan, District Barnala, at the time. He alleged that despite repeated calls about constituency matters, Babljit Kaur did not respond. When she did answer, she spoke rudely, violating his dignity and protocol norms.
The Privileges Committee heard both MLA Kulwant Singh Pandori and Babljit Kaur about the matter. After oral questioning, the committee found Kaur guilty of misconduct and negligence.
The committee submitted its report to the Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha for further action.
